For a serious connoisseur, very few things are as pleasing as a properly cooked recipe – the moment every part comes together properly, it’s nearly magical. At the same time, a poor dish can ruin an otherwise enjoyable occasion, so it’s a good idea to do some homework and look around for opinions before making a decision about where to eat.
As though that doesn’t make circumstances complex enough, there’s much more to consider about a restaurant than just the food! The character of a restaurant can really make a difference in your general experience, be it supercilious and rude staff members or a yelling young child another table over. However it’s not all unpleasant, naturally – an awesome ambiance can change a solid meal into an incredible dish!
We’ve lived in New York for quite a while at this point, and we’ve built up a reasonably decent repertoire of restaurants we enjoy, ranging from small mom-and-pop businesses to dazzling fine dining, and the following are a few of our all-time favs (it was so tricky to choose!). This is what folks on Yelp.com say on the subject of our favorites:
#1. Plataforma Churrascaria Rodizio
316 W 49th St
(between 8th Ave & 9th Ave)
New York, NY 10019

Non stop awesome! Just when you flip your card to red the staff brings you meet you can’t deny.

I’ve been to Berimbau many times for weekday lunch. Their lunch portions are generous and, more importantly, delicious! It’s a nice change from the usual salad bar stuff. The service is always friendly, even when you’re only getting take out. Would definitely go back and look forward to going on the weekend sometime so I can try the fejoda.
